Red Marley Hill Climb 2014

It will still be on Easter Monday, it will still have the best of action as riders attempt to beat each other, and the clock, to the top of the Worcestershire hill, but there are a few changes to a couple of the classes.

Out is the Pre-1950 rigid class, in is a 16 rider invitation ‘Superclass’ event using the Speedway Championship formula. The riders to be invited will be decided from previous year’s results and there will be 20 heats of four riders scoring three points for a win, two for second and one point for third place. The format ensures all riders race against each other at some point and the winner will be the rider with most points.

For the rest of us there will still be up to 350cc and over 350cc classes where the invited riders will not be eligible and finally there will be the usual Allcomers class to round off the proceedings. The event remains a Classic meeting and all machines must be essentially of Pre-1970 manufacture.
