Westmorland MC launched their Bultaco Revival Trial a couple of years ago with the dual aim of celebrating the Spanish marque and raising funds for cancer care.

Some marques seem to grab the limelight and Bultaco have certainly done that since that far-off day in late 1964 when Sammy Miller parked up his Ariel and cast a leg over the development Sherpa T.

From riding a yellow SWM in the Highland sunshine the previous week to a blue Bulto in the Cumbrian ‘sunshine’, Schreiber shows the style that brought him world success.

It seems almost every trials name ever has ridden a Bultaco at some time or other and a fair few of them were in a field near Kendal in June to ride again in the Bultaco Revival Nostalgia Trial 2019.

With US former world trials champion – 1979 on Bultaco – Bernie Schreiber as guest of honour and maximising his time in the UK there was a lot of interest in the trial, as Bernie has been off the scene for a long time.

John Reynolds was part of the Comerfords team for a long time and is still a handy rider.

Typically for June the weather can be mixed and as most riders did lap one in the dry there followed the second lap of the course which was damper.

With sections laid out on a variety of terrains from streams to muddy climbs, there was enough of a test to make sure everyone was on their mettle throughout the day.
