Enthusiasm undamped - Classic Dirt Bike

It was a wet old weekend for the Carole Nash International Classic MotorCycle Show.

It’s England, it’s spring, it could be fine, warmand sunny or it could be as it was at the Carole Nash Classic MotorCycle Show when CDB popped in on Saturday, April 27 – a bit damp.

**Owd Codgers were supporting the Air Ambulance this year, bravely or rashly their representative Erin Hughes agreed to have a go in the chair with Carl Baker.**

However, us dirt bike riders are not fazed by such conditions, perversely we probably enjoy them and despite the rain there was a chance to rummage in boxes at autojumble stalls outside, inspect a few new bits and pieces and catch up with some displays on the inside.

Thankfully the rain eased a bit for the Owd Codgers trials display too.

**Ron Langston was an Ariel factory rider for a long time, he rode this particular model in the 1958 ISDT. He told CDB: “I rode two ISDTs and have two gold medals…” Not a bad record Ron.**

This year there were some excellent off-road machines from all eras up for sale.

There were quite a few with a proper pedigree too and interest was high in such things as the Triumph Trophy Bud Ekins used in the 1962 ISDT after he doubled for Steve McQueen in the Hollywood move ‘The Great Escape’.
