Scrambles fans will no doubt be pleased to hear that Classic Dirt Bike, will again be sponsoring the British Classic Scrambles Championship in 2010, writes Dave Gittins. Seven rounds have been arranged including a new venue, courtesy of the Kendal club. They are: 

9 May: Mortimer Classic at Bennetts Hill, Theale, near Reading
30 May: Bath Classic at Yatton Keynell, near Chippenham, Wilts
13 June: Kendal Classic at Blencarn, near Penrith, Cumbria
27 June: Western Classic at Horsley, near Nailsworth, Glos
11 July: Mid-Wales Classic at Abbeycwmhir, near Llandrindod Wells, Powys
25 July: Shropshire Classic at Hawkstone Park, near Shrewsbury
8 August: North Devon (Atlantic) at Berrynarbor, near Combe Martin

This year the basic structure of the championship may change. Instead of one championship event consisting of two races at each of the championship meetings, we are considering two championship events (one race per event) at each meeting. So there will be the same number of championship races in total, but they will be split between two separate events. The proposed championship events could be: 

1 A traditional 'Pre-65' event open to all Pre-60 and pre-unit machines, plus the unit Triumph Metisse. Relevant two-strokes such as the twin-port CZ, bolt-up Husqvarna and Greeves Challenger will also be included, as will the 250 BSA.

2 A 'classic' Pre-68 event open to BSA B40 and B44 including Cheney and Faber varieties (but not B50) and relevant two-strokes, eg early 250/360 single-port CZ.

If there are sufficient entries each event will contain an up to 350cc class.
