Wrighty's show
By: Tim Britton
Top UK ISDT racers from the golden era will be reunited with a selection of period ISDT machines at Alan Wright's Classic, Evo and twinshock show.
There is a presentation of ISDT Triumphs to John Giles, Roy Peplow and Gordon Blakeway, such as they rode in 1958 to 1961, performed by the legendary Arthur Browning so it certainly won’t be dull. There will also be a lifetime’s ambition fulfilled for ex Brit champ Greg Hanson. Apparently 25 years ago Greg wrote to the BBC’s “Jim’ll fix it” for a request to meet his hero Heikki Mikkola ! Well a quarter of a century later Wrighty has played a latter day fairy godmother and has given Greg a Saturday evening dinner ticket seated on the top table – next to guess who? Heikki Mikkola!
The International Centre is just one mile from Jct 4 of the M54. Start time is 10am but early entry to the outside autojumble is from 9am. Entry is £10 with kids going free.
